Bedding, pillows from the High Point Furniture Market

Eastern Accents shows its Spring 2011 introductions at the High Point furniture market, beginning this weekend. The company has partnered with Barclay Butera to create a new collection of bedding and pillows. Barclay Butera Bedding was designed to create the icing on the cake for the already successful Barclay Butera Lifestyle home furnishings line.

Inspired by trips to Europe, the company’s designers created three additions to the Eastern Accents line: Gallagher features a beautiful earth-tone crewel, Ceylon a blue and white ikat and Daphne the latest of French and Belgian mode.
Playing off the travel theme, Eastern Accents has introduced several pillows in its Studio 773 line. Bon Voyage and Destination are two new collections featuring beautiful map fabrics and block-printed burlap. Jet Setter is a pillow in the shape of a suitcase.
The six new Niche Bedding & Living collections and a pillow program are inspired by fashion trends; the designers paired yellow and gray earth tones and metallic to create transitional bedding.
De Medici Fine Linens will display its new jacquard called Lunetta. Available in the subtle pearl, biscotti, and truffle tones, this introduction is a 560 thread count, 100% Egyptian cotton sateen. Pairing perfectly with Lunetta is the Deluca collection, which includes three new solid sateen colors.

Eastern Accents has supplemented the richly elegant Marquise line with more decorative pillows. Embroidered silk, burnt-out velvet, and faux leather pillows are the perfect finishing touches to any Marquise bed. They have also expanded the faux leopard textiles collection Congo to include upholstered ottomans and table runners.

Ghost Taunters

"Hello and welcome to Ghost Investigator Dudes. I'm Brad Johnson, a frat boy jock who isn't afraid of ANYTHING and enjoys taunting the afterlife by yelling challenges into empty cellars.

"With me are Joey..."

"Yo!"

"...and Mike."

"Yo!"

"Today we're here at the old Chattanooga asylum, where, like, a bunch of people died 'n stuff and we're totally gonna lock ourselves in all night and see what happens and film everything with shaky pocket infrared cameras and bad sound equipment.

"Awright, let's get started! So we're going down to the dungeons to...

"WHOA!!! Something touched me! Dude! Did you get that on camera?!?"

"No."

"Aw, dude."

(Geeet oooouuuut!!)

"Righteous. So, like, now we're going down into the kitchens where they kille..."

"WHOA!!! Did you see that?"

"No."

"There! In the corner! Were you filming?"

"Sorry, man, no - but I did feel a little cold just then."

"Duuude."

(No seeeeeriously. Geeeet oooouuuut!!!)

"Shyah. That was, like, almost totally spiritual. So, check it! The caretaker here says there's this dog? That's like a ghost? That haunts the library and kills people? So we should totally go there."

"Whoa!"

*beep* *beep* *beeeeeeeeeeeep*

"Did you *beeeep*'n see that?!?"

[camera swinging wildly, sound of scuffling feet]

*beeeeep*

"Dude, tell me you got that on tape!!"

"Sorry, bra. It was pointed at the floor."

"Whoa."

(I kill you!!)

"Ok, so, like, there's a wedding chapel in this asylum that's, like, totally haunted, right? And a bunch of people died there last week so, like, let's turn off all our lights and point our cameras at the floor."

[girlish shriek]

"DUDE! I saw something move!"

"Something walked by me!!"

"Someone's massaging my shoulders!!!"

(Well, hello there.)

*beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep*

Thanks to Emily L., Jessica L., Leslie H., Urvashi, & Tama, but we still don't know what happened to André.

Babel Fish Needed

You know that optical illusion that looks like an old woman one way, and a young girl the other?

Well, this cake is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike that.

So far I've assembled a list of 42 different words that this might be, including "@Loehoe," "Soekuc,"and "Slartibartfast." And yes, so far as I know, this is supposed to be "English."

Anyway, I've given up.

In fact, I can't help but be impressed by this individual's cryptography skills. Hey NSA, I've got your next Enigma machine right here! Think about it: for the cost of a piping bag and some chocolate, you'll never have to fear Wikileaks again. Eh?

So long, Jackie W., and thanks for all the fish.

Achtung!!! Es tut mir leid; Ich bin eine Sachertorte! Fahrvergnügen! Neenër neenër!

Its just one of those days...

When I feel like these people *points up*
cause it happens that I'm back to obsessing about
FINAL FANTASY
[silent screams]

I wonder how I go through this every single time.
=D
It happens that I'd get obsessed with something REAL fast and then 'poof'
I would go back to normal.

So now I'm seriously obsessed with Final Fantasy.
Like, a nut case kind of seriously.
LOL AHHHH!!!
[you have no idea how much I feel like screaming right now xD]

My cousins was the one that intro me to Advent Children
Cloud is sooo hawt :O

The funny thing is,
when my first crush in high school learns that I'm crazy about Final Fantasy songs,
he went into trouble to find all sorts of songs from it for me :P
And that's how I got his attention LOL [and got into a crazy relationship with him]
I mean,
I was form one okay, and he's like form three?
Seniors hardly pay attention to juniors.
Up till now I still wondered what does he sees in me.

But oh boy =D
good times alright.

He sent this picture
as if to show me how romantic it is or something
HA.HA.HA

Listening to songs like "Aerith's Theme" or "Tifa's Theme"
brings back flashbacks.
And I don't even need to close my eyes for that [hear that Taylor Swift?]

Taylor Swift - Love Story
I close my eyes, and the flashback starts.

So there, Taylor Swift!

I adore Advent Children more
Granted, cause I never watch others yet.
I even played the game!!
I want it back!!

So here I am,
spending the last twenty minutes printing sheets after sheets of music.
I'll definitely be spending lots of time playing endlessly,
trying to get the songs and the mood and the timing perfect.

I live for piano! =D

Edward Cullen playing the piano
makes him even hotter :D

So I have been driving back and forth to my working place.
No accidents.
I'm handling the car perfectly well, so far.
I don't think I'm allowed to drive on my own to anywhere I'm not familiar with yet.
My mum said no when I offered to fetch my sister from school yesterday!

Ah well,
I shall wait =D

P.S I need to watch Black Swan. Even though seeing people dancing ballet would be a slap in the face.

P.P.S I love my friends. Seriously. Always through thick and thin. They put up with my nonsense when I'm super hyper and couldn't stop talking crap. They put up my rage about little matters. And they put up with me when I'm not myself either. Thanks guys.

XOXO

Classic plastic boxes in 5 new colors

AMAC has been producing the classic M Series boxes since 1960. This year, the company exhibited at the Housewares Show for the first time. It introduced five new colors: Ember, Olive, Pink, Slate and Marine. They will only be available packaged in retail friendly "Consumer Packs." The smallest three sizes are wrapped in sets of three, the two medium sizes are packed in sets of two and the four largest sizes are wrapped singly. Together, this colorful collection of jewel tone boxes adds a splash of color to any retail environment.

Company founder Gene Hurwitt designed the boxes in 1960 in the bohemian enclave of Sausalito, Calif. AMAC boxes joined the permanent collection of New York's MoMA in 1966.

LDS General Conference Ideas

We've had a lot of you ask if we have any ideas to keep your kids interested {busy} during General Conference this weekend... so we've compiled a few ideas from around the blog world for you.

#1 - CONFERENCE TREAT BUCKETS - by Brown Paper Packages

Basically the idea is to get some buckets, label them with words you want your kids to listen for, and let them pick a treat when they hear that word spoken in one of the talks!  Awesome, huh?

Don't have time or want to spend money on buckets and vinyl?
Use mason jars and print out words from your computer. (be cute & colorful to see the candies)
Have your kids help you color your labels and tape them on!
Also, my little ones can't read yet - so I will probably find pictures of the temple, the scriptures, etc. for our treat buckets!  (If time permits, I will post the pictures I find so you can use them too!)

#2 - SET UP YOUR TENTS!

Just as the people gathered to hear King Benjamin...
Think of how much fun little ones would have listening to the Prophet in their very own tent.
Whether you make one out of blankets and chairs, or you have a real tent to set up -
Deck it out with pillows, notepads, snacks, etc. and let the kiddos play make believe!

#3-  DOWNLOAD A CONFERENCE PACKET

We love Sugardoodle.net!  They make it so easy to plan lessons, activities and so much more.  Click on the links below to download a packet specific for the ages of your kids.  Or check out their entire collection of conference ideas here.

YOUTH PACKET  - for ages 12 and up.  Setting goals, taking notes, facts about the Apostles, etc.

IDEAS FOR TOTS  from Oopsey Daisy.  Lots of ideas to keep toddlers busy!

NOTE PAGE FOR ADULTS from Visiting Teaching.net.  A great printable to put into a binder, and keep all your General Conference notes together throughout the years!

JUNIOR PRIMARY AGED PACKET - coloring, dot to dots, search for hidden pictures, etc.  Love this one!

Well, there you go!  Should be enough to get you started at least!  Let us know if you have any fun or unique ideas that have worked for your family.  We'd love to hear!

Webinar for retailers this Friday

press release

The Gift and Home Trade Association (GHTA), whose mission is to lead and transform the gift and home industry, ensuring its long term health and viability, has announced a new educational benefit for its members: "First Friday" webinars. The monthly webinars will feature industry veterans and experts speaking to a variety of industry-relevant issues and content.

The inaugural "First Friday" will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011, at 12:00 PM EST. Betsy Harrington, Senior Vice President of Sales at Woodstock Chimes, and John Keiser, CEO of OneCoast and GHTA board member, will present "How to Conduct Effective Business Reviews Between Sales Agencies and Vendors." The content covered in the webinar includes the importance of doing a monthly review, components of a monthly review, and what sales agencies and vendors can do to contribute to the review. This webinar will be offered to non-GHTA members this month only at no additional cost.

"This new membership benefit allows companies to start and continue significant conversations regarding relevant topics to our industry," says Cindy Henry, Executive Vice President of Wellspring and GHTA board member. "One of the greatest benefits of GHTA membership is the opportunity the Association provides to network and talk with other industry participants, sharing knowledge and best practices. This benefit provides an excellent platform for this type of interaction."

"First Friday" webinars are designed to enhance GHTA membership by offering a platform to share content and concepts relevant to the gift and home industry, as well as share thoughtful and meaningful discussion. "First Friday" is named for many of the industry's retail communities, which offer special events and opportunities on the first Friday of the month.

May's "First Friday" will address issues related to doing business in China. The presentation, "China – A 'State of the State' and Implications for the Industry," will be led by David Moses, with Next Step Strategies, Inc., Rick Contino, President of Midwest-CBK, and George Kacic, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Ganz.

In Moderation

Each day here on Cake Wrecks, we get literally tens of comments. Some days, if the post is particularly funny (read: offensive) we get even more. And, most of the time, these comments fall into one of several categories. Let's take a look, shall we?

Good commenters
--------------------------------------
The Enthusiast:

"BWAHAHAHAHA!!! LOVE IT!!! I literally threw up a little bit in my mouth, spit coffee all over my keyboard, and peed my pants. BEST. POST. EVAH!!!"

The Informer:

"The design on cake #2 is actually a perfect reproduction of the ficus remidius leaf found in Northern Kentucky between the months of June and August in a little patch of forest near Lake Onomakahatitikaka.

"Nice post, though."

The Optimist:

"At least the writing is pretty! And the balloons don't look like sperm!"

The Storyteller:

"Great post! It reminds me of this trip I took to Prague in 1982 with my cousin's roommate and Charlie Sheen. It was the dead of winter, I had a sombrero and a waffle iron and only four bullets left in my clip, and...well, to make a long story short, I still don't know what happened to that hooker's pet monkey."

Bad commenters
---------------------------------------

The Name Builder:

"Mike Johnson thinks this cake is terrible. Mike Johnson can't believe it. Mike Johnson wouldn't eat that cake if someone gave it to Mike Johnson for Mike Johnson's birthday! Mike Johnson Mike Johnson Mike Johnson Mike Johnson"

The Newbie:

"Um, I'm pretty sure that's "Epcot" from Disney (you can tell by the Disney font), and I don't see ANY daisies. Plus, what's the deal with those babies sitting on carrots? Looks a bit off, if you ask me."

The Spammer:

"Thank you for the information! Very informative! Free Viagra! Free Nikes! Buy Pharmacy Meds Cheap! Jessica Alba Nude!"

Thanks to Ticia, Darla D., Kelli P., Lauren H., Amanda J., Drew C., & Melissa K., who will now all be leaving wholly original comments about Charlie Sheen's new pet monkey.

Dining trays for indoor and outdoor use

Lappers are ergonomically designed dining trays with indentations fitted with an anti-slip silicone mat to keep plates and glasses in their place. The trays have large, comfortable handles for easy carrying. The trays nest into each other for convenient storage. Made of melamine, they are dishwasher-safe. The mats can be custom-printed (see insert photo for examples).
