Cute Anytime Gift Idea

Supplies needed:
2 colors of cardstock (Valentine's is coming . . . think pink!)
cellophane
coordinating ribbon
and . . .
Chocolates!

To make these little cuties . . . borrow your friend's scallop cutter to get the cute edge on the smaller circle. (Or you can probably buy that fun cutter at your local craft store.) Then I used the Creative Memories cutting systems circle patterns to cut the larger circles. I used a bit of 2-sided adhesive to stick them together. Finally, I used the CM circle maker to do the smaller circles for the coordinating gift tags, and a corner rounder to finish them off.

I've had my eye on these chocolates for two years now . . . they are from Costco and I think they are so cute! One box was $10.-12. I think, and dividing them up for these gifts had enough for the women I visit teach and for the elderly couples and widows in our cul-de-sac. (And of course a few left over for me to sample.)

These are nice because they are a small but delicious gift for a single person to enjoy.

Romantic Gifts for Valentine's Day (And More!)

Appliances = Foolish

Stuffed Animals = Childish

Card, Flowers, Chocolate = Predictable

Romantic Dinner = Devoted

Personalized Poem or Love Letter = Passionate

Lingerie = Backfire

It's a fool who gives his lover an appliance on Valentine's Day. The only thing worse would be to not acknowledge the day at all. It doesn't matter if she's asking for a new blender; you don't buy it for her on Valentine's Day. There are 361 other good days to give her a new blender. [P.S. 361 days is not a typo, you don't give appliances on her birthday, anniversary, Christmas or Valentine's Day.] Just because a sweeper may not technically be an appliance it does fall under this category along with anything else that makes her work.

If you think because you waited till the last minute to think about her gift that you can just grab a stuffed animal with a heart or "I Love You" written on it, you are being very childish. Unless you're 13 years old, don't even bother wasting your time. Treat her like the woman she is; make Valentine's Day quixotic.

To be just like all the other men out there, give her a bought card, a dozen red roses and a heart shaped box of chocolates that taste like wax. Very predictable and not much thought involved. This is the "responsible" gift. You know you have to give something on this day or you'll be in hot water so you go with the flow and do what everyone else does.

You are truly devoted if you plan a romantic dinner for her. If you're going out for a romantic dinner why not make an evening of it. Go dancing, driving or parking; these are all fun things to do on Valentine's Day. Have fun together, it will make both of you happy.

It's all about you. The one who takes the time to write a love letter or poem is immensely rewarded. With the little effort it takes to write it you score major points. She will remember this gift for a long, long time. Tip - pretty paper or a red felt tip pen with a red or pink envelope, marked SWAK (sealed with a kiss) on the outside will impress. Mail it to her at work or home to arrive on or the day before Valentine's Day.

Some women like lingerie but I wouldn't take that chance. It could backfire and turn a wonderful evening into a downer. She may confuse a gift such as this as an invitation for sex, which in turn could disappoint her because that's all you think about.

If you want to make an impact this year give her a combination of the above gifts, such as a love letter with a dozen roses or a card and a romantic dinner. Don't just go with the flow, branch out and do something distinctive this year. Real or silk rose petals are great for sprinkling on the table at a romantic dinner. Some dipping chocolate and strawberries from the grocery store and a bottle of wine can be an interesting end to an evening or the beginning of a wonderful love affair.

Valentine's Day Treats for School and Work

Are you as tired as I am of those little white heart-shaped candies with messages like "I like You" printed on them? Be a little creative this year and come up with some new Valentine's Day treats to take to school and work. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Valentine's Day Cookies
Make a batch of Sugar cookies or pick up some refrigerated dough at the grocery store. Cut them out with a heart-shaped cookie cutter and bake. Frost with a glaze of powdered sugar, water and a little red food coloring, or make it really simple and buy a container of pre-made frosting. Use some frosting pens to write messages or draw on the cookies. Add a few sprinkles and you're set! Don't forget to invite your kids to get involved in decorating any cookies they are taking to school. They will have a great time preparing these special treats.

Valentine's Cup Cakes
Purchase a box of devil's food cake mix (or your favorite flavor) and prepare according to package directions. Line muffin tins with paper liners and pour enough batter in each to fill to about 1/3 full. Top with 1 tbsp of fruit preserves (strawberry works great) then add more batter until the muffin tins are approximately ¾ filled. Bake according to cake mix directions. When they are cool, dust them with powdered sugar, or frost them and sprinkle with red-hot candy hearts.

Valentine's Day Cake
Bake any flavor cake in a heart shaped cake form. Let cook and cut in half horizontally. Mix a few drops of red food coloring into a container of whipped topping, and spread some on the bottom layer of the cake. Add the top layer and frost the entire outside of the cake. Top with fresh berries.

Chocolate Lollipops
Get some heart-shaped lollipop molds. Melt milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate (quality chocolate chips work great). Pour the melted chocolate in the mold and add a lollipop stick. Let cool until hardened. Wrap in cellophane and tie with a little bow. Use leftover chocolate and plastic spoons to create fancy coffee stirrers. Simply dip the plastic spoons in the melted chocolate. Let cool and repeat until you reach the desired thickness, Both of these can be decorated by drizzling different types of melted chocolate over the finished product.

Have fun this year creating some wonderful Valentine's Day treats. I'm sure you will come up with a delicious treat that will be a big hit in the office or the classroom.

Baby Shower Accessory Jar (Girl)

Okay, I have to start out by saying I got this adorable idea from Anna. She along with her sister and mom have a business that makes some of the cutest baby accessories EVER! Check them out at The Pixie Patch.

I'm headed to a baby shower for a friend who is expecting her first girl in a couple of days. I ordered these booties, hair accessories and binky clip from the Pixie Patch, put them in this glass jar that she can use to keep all her little accessories in (got it at WalMart for $2.86, thank you Hilary!), tied a ribbon and attached some tags and viola. It almost makes me want to have a baby!

Valentine Flower Pots

After Christmas, January arrives and in Utah, it's often grey, cloudy and snowy, so we thought (my 6 year old and I) that we'd invite February in a little sooner to add a little cheer. February is full of birthdays in our home and Valentine's Day and who doesn't love the color pink? I don't know how this idea came about except for I wanted something cheery and felt a bit crafty. So while I used some flower pots from Christmas sales (red and black), I also used flower pots painted pink. Use whatever you choose. I was on a quest to have a craft project for my daughter and nieces but it turned into a "Just for Fun" project that I gave to some of my neighbor friends as well. It's just cheery and you could modify it to how you'd like.

Items needed:
1- 6" flower pot (mine were Christmas w/ red and black, or choose red, pink, white, etc.) ($2-$6 depending on pot used)
2- Ribbon-I used a solid red (to cover the black to red seam—not necessary w/ a solid color pot) and a pink/orange/red ribbon (used over the solid red and tied in a knot at the front of the pot) ($3 at JoAnn's)
3- Floral foam
4- Bunch of gerbera daisies (6 per pot) ($1-$2 dollars a bunch for 6)
5- Fountain grass (mine were from the $1 Store)
6- White paint (for polka dots)
7- Sparkly hearts on sticks ($1 Store)
8- Sparkly heart chip boards (4.99 on sale for 2.79 at Roberts)
9- Wire for beads ($2 at JoAnn's)
10- Beads (red, pink, orange to coordinate w/ ribbon, larger aurora/clear beads-.59 at Robert's)
11- Small rhinestone crystals (I got mine at JoAnn's fabrics for about $3 or at Robert's Crafts)

Very easy project (my 6 year old helped while I did the hot glue gun) but fun and cheery!
1. First I painted white polka dots on the top 1" of the pot and let those dry. (I used the Spouncers – foam circle shapes- found at Walmart.
2. I then hot glued the solid red ribbon (optional if you have a color seam and want it to be hidden under chiffon ribbon) overlapping about ¼ inch of the black to the red w/ the seam of the ribbon at the back of the pot.
3. I then put the striped wire chiffon ribbon at the seam of the red in the back of the pot, hot glued it in a few spots so it would stay in place, and tied it in a knot at the front center of the pot.
4. Next we hot glued rhinestones randomly near the white paint polka dots and overlapping the ribbon.
5. We put foam in the pot and put the green fountain grass in the center so it cascades up and out.
6. I then put the gerbera daisies in starting with one in the front center, alternating colors to the sides and worked my way to the back (6 total). I put them low so they rested on the pot and covered the foam.
7. I put 3 glittery hearts on stakes in the center of the fountain grass alternating in heights. I was going to make them but saw these at the $1 Store and they were perfect.
8. I strung beads on wire and randomly curled the wire around the paint brush stick (pencil width) adding beads as I went. Four total pairs (sequence: small colored bead, larger ¼" size aurora crystal, then same tiny colored bead). I put the wire through the knot of the ribbon and back down so the wire hung with the beads. At the end of the wire, I wrapped it around a glittery, heart chipboard (found at Robert's Crafts) and ended with a crystal bead. I also glued a heart on the pot above the knot in the ribbon.
9. For my neighbors, I put a tag inside that coordinated and said "Just for Fun".
10. Final flower pot stands about 15 inches high.

I spent about $6-8 per flower pot but these could easily be made smaller (less $) for VT's or friends.

A Valentine's Day Guaranteed to go off like a Frog in a Sock

Valentine's Day! What a great day for romantics at heart! Any excuse to celebrate a day of l'amour is in my opinion, a good excuse and on the 14th February cards, flowers and the whole love thing will be celebrated for many with romance and style.

The history of this day has origins in both Christian and Ancient Roman tradition. As a matter of fact there are many legends surrounding Valentine and the day it was yet to become. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia (1908) there are least three St Valentine's recorded.

One legend has it that in 269 AD in ancient Rome, Saint Valentine was secretly performing marriages and engagements in direct contravention of the Emperor Claudius II, who banned marriages and engagements in an attempt to recruit and enlist more soldiers (recruitment numbers were down because the men wanted to remain with their loved ones). Alas and alack it was all too good to last, when St Valentine's secret was discovered, as punishment for his crime, he was thrown into jail, beaten with clubs, followed by execution.

The legend goes that before he was beheaded on 14th February, he fell in love with his jailor's daughter and wrote her a billet-doux (love letter). It's said he signed off on his note with "from your valentine". Many years later in 496 AD, Pope Gelasius declared a day of honour for Valentine and so began Valentine's Day.

Meanwhile, in ancient Roman days the 14th February celebrated and honored Juno, Queen of Roman Goddesses and Gods who was also said to be Goddess of woman and marriage.

Another legend has it that Valentine was an early Christian who made friends with many children. The Romans apparently imprisoned him because he didn't worship their gods. The children, missing Valentine, would hand him loving notes through the bars of his cell.

Whatever the legends, the 14th February is the day where many of us exchange cards (anonymously or not) and do something romantic for our partner.

Having a pretty good idea on what women want, flowers, chocolates, and a card (yes I know some of us are still waiting...) I wondered what men wanted and so asked a group of men if they could have something they really wanted what would it be?

The majority of responses I'm not able to reprint (side splittingly funny nevertheless) and asked them to think seriously about what they would like to have on Valentine's Day. Never having been asked before, this proved to be a somewhat difficult question for them to answer, but soon started warming to this question.

For partners scratching for ideas, the following will give you some idea what he really wants if it were up to him. I was told, come up with any of the following and it's guaranteed Valentine's Day will go off like a frog in a sock:

Please note that the opinions contained herein are not necessarily those of the author...

A beautiful meal at a restaurant (probably because they couldn't have what they really wanted first up so this was a safe start);

A good book and the silence to read it;

A weekend away at a resort or hotel;

Day-tripping around coastal or country areas, eating breakfast and lunch out at different places;

Hanging out with loved one;

Breakfast in bed;

Driving an open top sports car for the day;

A ride in a supersonic jet;

Nice bottle of single malt 100 year old scotch;

Police arresting and taking away the mother-in-law;

Massage in a day spa;

Complete day of wife or partner agreeing with everything said; 24 hour nag-free day;

Someone else working at your day job for the day;

Wife or partner completely losing their voice for the day;

To be alone;

Visit an art gallery;

Visit a museum;

Play golf or go to a sporting event - whatever is in season; and

Ride a Harley Davidson.

Even if you're not into Valentine's Day, it's the perfect excuse to have that frog go off in a sock by doing something wonderful for you and your partner, and if single, you can do something especially for you.

How to Pick Perfect Flowers According to Occasions

Life is beautiful. There're so much in life to cherish and celebrate - birth of a baby, graduation, wedding, anniversary, Valentine's day, Mother's day and Christmas. Flowers are loved by both men and women for their beauty, purity and freshness.

Valentine's flowers are about love and passion if you pick roses. Consider a sunflower for the person in your life. The meaning of this Valentine's Day flower is admiration. Your special someone will feel adored by you all day long. How about a For-get-me not? This flower means true love. You could not say it any better. A tulip given on Valentine's Day has a meaning of the perfect lover. Now that is a desired compliment.

The meaning of mother's day flowers is said best with pink carnations as these flowers say, "I will never forget you" and they represent a mother's love. While carnations are a popular choice for mom on her special day, they are not the only choice. Think about your mom and what she likes. The meaning of mother's day flowers is to show mom that you took time out of your day to think about her so choose flower arrangements that suit her best.

Christmas flower gifts have special meanings for Christmas celebration. In a story about the birth of Jesus Christ, it was flowers from two little poor children that outshone all the gifts that three wise men had brought for Him.

Birthday flowers are chosen according to different months of the year, much like birthstones. January is the snowdrop and carnation; February the primrose and violet; March the violet and jonquil; April flowers are the daisy and sweet pea; May represents lily of the valley and hawthorn; June is the rose and honeysuckle; July the water lily and larkspur; August represents the gladiolus and poppy; September the Morning Glory and Aster; October the Marigold; November, chrysanthemum; and December birthday's the Poinsettia and Holly. Remember, the monthly guide to flowers provides a basis for picking out flowers for a man or a woman, but other flowers are appropriate as well depending on whether you are buying them for a family member or the love of your life.

Wedding lowers should be chosen according to the bride and groom preferences, color of the bride and bridesmaids' dresses, church and reception places, and sticking to the decoration theme, if any. Another point to consider is the season because most floral varieties are easily found year-round, but seasonal flowers are cheaper and easier to find. Fresh flowers are the most viable option when it comes to planning the wedding day, but a few brides prefer dried flowers or artificial ones made of silk.

The Internet opened a new and convenient way for people to send flowers. Valentine's Day 2002, Carole was in Cornwall, UK and her boyfriend Vic was in Guildford, UK. Vic decided to head to the internet. Typing in flower delivery Cornwall, then florists in Guildford, Vic found the perfect Valentine's flowers for Carole. The flowers can be ordered online from Guildford, UK and sent to Cornwall, UK and would arrive early next morning. They enjoyed the experience of florists in Devon for flower delivery as well.

A Perfect Dinner for Valentine's Day

Which image come to your mind, when you think about a perfect Valentine's Day celebration?

I personally think about a romantic, candlelight dinner with a bottle of wine. You can take you partner out to a fine dinner in a nice restaurant, but you can also stay in your own home and prepare a romantic meal.

I like the second option because it allows you to create a romantic evening, with a nice intimate atmosphere only for you and your partner outside of crowded restaurants. It also allows you to save some money for spending a little more on a gift. So if you decide to cook, what about a dinner with aphrodisiac food to seduce your partner and make your evening more 'spicy'? Do not forget a person's heart is through the stomach.

Aphrodisiac Food

The word aphrodisiac comes from the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite and designates a food that have the ability to activate or enhance sexual desire in whomever consumes it. The belief that certain type of food can enhance sexual desire is centuries old. Food traditionally known as aphrodisiac include chocolate - a classical Valentine's Day gift, bananas, asparagus because of their suggestive shape, chili peppers, and seafood. The ancient world believed seafood to be aphrodisiac because Aphrodite was born of sea foam.

However, it must be remarked that there are some skeptics concerning the ability of some food to affect the sexual desire. On the other side, shellfish are naturally low in fat, high in protein and replete with minerals such as magnesium, selenium that in a balanced diet can lead to better health, and consequently to a better sexual performance.

Not to forget that oysters - probably the most well-known seafood aphrodisiac - have high levels of zinc, which is critical to male fertility.

Therefore you can you can prepare a Valentine's Day menu containing these foods. Especially if you and your partner love seafood nothing could be better. You can prepare a salad with asparagus as starter, some shellfish as main course, and finalize your dinner with a chocolate mousse as dessert.

Creating a Romantic Atmosphere

The menu you serve plays an important role in your Valentine's Day celebration, but to make it perfect you should create a romantic, harmonic, and comfortable environment. You can cover your table with a white tablecloth and decorate it with some red candles (with heart shapes, for instance).

Or you can invert it and cover the table with some red tablecloth, put on it some white candles and serve the meal on white plates. This creates a beautiful contrast. Nevertheless, how you choose to decorate, use some red color because it is the color of passion that enhances sensuality.

Another idea is to create a candle light path up to the bedroom, where you have spread roses petals on the bed. Not to forget music. Turn on the stereo with some music you both like.

Well, these are just suggestions. You can design your dinner according to yours and your partner taste. Use your creativity to create your perfect romantic and erotic Valentine's Day night.

Giving Flowers for Valentine's Day

Flowers are undoubtedly one of the most popular gifts for a man to give to a woman on Valentine's Day. In fact flowers are so popular that many men typically give flowers along with other gifts as an addition to the gift as opposed to giving flowers as the gift. However, many men often make the mistake of thinking red roses are the only gifts they can give to their loved on Valentine's Day Jewelry. This is simply not true. There are not only other flowers which are appropriate but there are also a number of different ways to give flower related gifts. This article will provide some great information on how to give flowers on Valentine's Day.

Roses can be very expensive on Valentine's Day but they are not the only flowers you can give on this special day. Any type of flower which your partner really likes and will appreciate can be an appropriate gift on Valentine's Day. In fact your partner may be extremely touched that you knew them well enough to pick out a different type of flower which you knew they would like. This shows that you put a great deal of thought and effort into buying flowers as opposed to buying red roses which may be more expensive but do not require nearly as much effort.

Another way to give the gift of flowers on Valentine's Day Silver is in the form of potted plants. These last much longer than fresh flowers which means your partner will be able to enjoy the gift for much longer. You will also have the option of choosing from a large variety of different types of plants. If you know what type of plants your partner will like, selecting a plant will be easy. However, even if you are not sure you can simply select a plant which you think your partner will find aesthetically appealing. The one caveat to buying potted plants is that you should seek out a plant which is relatively easy to care for so your partner will not have a difficult time caring for the plant.

You might also want to consider giving artificial flowers on Valentine's Day. This may not seem overly romantic but artificial flowers are now actually made to look quite lifelike and some women may actually prefer artificial flowers to real flowers. This may be because artificial flowers require very minimal maintenance and do not require any special abilities to maintain the appearance of the flowers. Unlike potted plants which can be difficult to maintain and may die as a result of too much water, not enough water, too much sunlight, not enough sun or any number of factors artificial plants only need to be cleaned and dusted regularly to maintain their appearance.

A final way to give the gift of flowers on Valentine's Day sterling silver is to give your partner seeds or bulbs which they can plant in their own backyard. This can be a great deal of fun because it can be something you and your partner can do together. This type of gift is especially a good idea if your partner has an interest in gardening. However, even if your partner does not have much of an interest in gardening you can include a few books on gardening and a homemade coupon offering your services for an afternoon of work in the garden. This will make the give more special and will allow the two of you to spend some quality time together planting the flowers.

What Are You Getting Yourself for Valentine's Day?

On February 14th, millions of women will sit at home alone, commiserating over the boyfriends or husbands we don't have. We will damn our prettier, skinnier, perkier friends who have boyfriends. We will commit to man-catching diets and convince ourselves we need to smile more, while lying on the couch in ill-fitted flannel pajamas tossing back bon bons and soda. We will blink back tears as other women get diamond rings and surprise proposals on Tyra's Valentine's Day Special. We will beg God for an answer as to why we have no one to get us a box of chocolates, a sappy card, or a dozen roses on Valentine's Day.

All the while, the rest of the world buzzes along, while we sit in self-imposed misery, waiting for love and happiness to knock on the door. Well, there is no need to sit at home thinking about what you don't have, wasting time and energy dreaming about what you want. Go out and get it. Whether you want a giant teddy bear, a meal at your favorite restaurant, or some sexy new pajamas, you do not have to wait around for someone else to give it to you. Give it to yourself.

You may be thinking - "But it's not the same!" And you're right; it's not the same. It's even better. Once you realize you can do these things for yourself, you free yourself from dependence on others for your happiness.

This is no less important when you are in a relationship. Let's face it, men are not mind readers (as Dr. Phil has made very clear), and we all know it takes the fun out of it when you have to tell him exactly what you want. More often than not, even the best of boyfriends can only be expected to provide the holy Valentine's Day trinity: flowers, candy, and dinner. But what if you wanted a massage at a spa? Are you going to tell him and get mad that you had to tell him? Are you going to drop hints and get mad when he doesn't get them? Don't do either. Just call the spa and make an appointment for yourself. Accept whatever he comes up with on his own with a smile, because you have already secured your own happiness - this is just icing on the cake.

This is not limited to Valentine's Day. So often, we are last on our own priority lists. We fantasize about our Prince Charming coming along and sweeping us away, doing all sorts of nice things for us. That may or may not happen, but it is important to take your happiness in your own hands every day. That may be taking a long hot bubble bath with scented candles, or having a glass of wine while listening to your favorite CD. You'd be surprised how these small doses of self-gratification will improve your overall happiness.

I know what you're saying. "I don't have the time", "I don't have the money", "I have more important things to worry about". These are all self-defeating thoughts that prevent us from taking control of our own happiness. We are taught that we should be selfless, putting the needs of others before our own. However, after long periods of doing this we have nothing left to give. On the other hand, when we fill ourselves up with happiness by fulfilling our own wishes, we exude that and make others happy with our very presence. All those things you wish you had the time, money, or energy to do? Don't wish. Do them. This Valentine's Day, get yourself an extra large dose of self-love.

Valentines Day Doesn't Have To Be Romantic: Showing Your Love In Fun Ways Too

To you, Valentine's Day may be a day to spend with your significant other or to spend out on the town. But, don't forget about the kids. You should insure that you think about them on this day and find a way to express your love for them too. While they may have a party at school even giving each other fun Valentine's cards, they still need to know that you are thinking about them on this day of love.

For many parents, there is a fine line between spoiling and showing that they care. That said, it is still important to demonstrate your love to them and what better way to do this than through Valentine's Day? Here are some suggestions for gifts and things that you can do based on the age of your child.

Preschoolers, Up To Age Four

At this age, even this young, they should be able to see the value in giving a gift rather than just receiving one. Allow them to do something for others. For example, make a batch of cookies for the day (or purchase them) and allow them to decorate the plate providing a piece of paper for them to decorate. Make sure to reward them with a plate of cookies for themselves after they have delivered their gifts. Talk about why it is important to show love like this.

Gifts for this age group that you can give them include:

* Stuffed animals, perhaps personalized with their name.

* Books to read and color, perhaps with a theme of loving in them.

* Take them out to lunch at their favorite restaurant.

* Start a tradition such as a visit to the zoo on this day each year.

Young Children, Ages Five Through Seven

Now, they can do much more. Perhaps have a cookie making party and invite their friends and mom's to help out. Have them make the cookies, decorate them and then help to pass them out. Perhaps taking them to a children's hospital or a nursing home to help share the love of Valentine's Day is a great solution. Provide them to neighbors, friends or even Grandma.

At this age, kids love to make things. This is the perfect project for them! Have them make cards, filled with great art supplies and stickers. Make sure to provide them with a reward for all of their hard work too.

Gifts here include:

* A stuffed animal, here think about their personal favorites.

* How about a movie?

* If you don't want to take them to see a movie, instead purchase one that they want.

Older Children: Ages Eight And Up

The same activities of making cards and cookies together will still work here. They will likely take more pride in their work and the results will show it. Also, think about incorporating scrap booking into this activity. Kids can make a memory book of all their favorite adventures and memories to share with special people.

Another great suggestion is to remember to send pictures and cards to the troops overseas. Make sure to allow them to send their own messages and perhaps they'll get a pen pal out of it too.

Afterwards, spend some time as a family with a pizza.

Going Bonkers on Valentine's Day

Whenever February the fourteenth is around the corner, the men of the world work themselves into a state. What do you buy your darling spouse that will make her utterly happy? Do you have any idea of a gift that will not make her wonder what made her marry you in the first place? Valentine's Day is an extremely harrowing season for the male species of the world. The stress that is laid on Valentine's Day by the media simply makes life unbearably complicated for all of us.

What are the best gifts that you can give to your wife? Diamonds? Every man has been taught that diamonds are a girl's best friend. Marilyn Monroe certainly did a lot to make that statement famous. The advertisements on television have done much to add force to this idea. The husband gifts his beautiful wife a diamond ring and the magic is created. The twinkle in her eyes will now shine with a sparkle brighter than that of the diamond.

If you have already bought her diamonds a month ago for her birthday, you really should seriously think about buying a gift that is different this time. What about lingerie? That always works doesn't it? Do you think that you can pluck up the courage to walk into the ladies' undergarments section? If you can, try the idea of getting your beloved wife silky lingerie or some lacy bras.

Suspend your discomfort for awhile if you have an anxiety attack at the very idea. Don't just walk in with your eyes closed and pick up the first bra that you can find. This is a very personal gift. Focus on the kind of gift that you want. Think about what your wife might like while you make your choice.

If you are not ready to spend too much, lingerie and diamonds will probably be a little too expensive. That does not mean that you should turn up home empty-handed on Valentine's Day. You could go with the whole flowers and chocolates idea. A box of heart-shaped chocolates and a bouquet of sweet-smelling flowers do make a very nice gift for Valentine's Day.

If you ask me, the best thing about this gift idea is the fact that it costs very little. Moreover, this little gesture will be appreciated a great deal by your lady love. This is true especially if you are not the kind of husband who enjoys giving presents on a whim.

Bear in mind that even though Valentine's Day comes once a year, ensure that you do not let expressing your love become an annual affair.

To choose, consider what the recipient likes; favorite colors and scents (some are stronger than others), size (will they go in a small area or a large empty dining room). Ask the florist for help.

Presentation of flowers

The next thing to consider when choosing flowers is the packaging and presentation. The packaging and presentation of the flowers should be as such that they make the right impact on the receiver. And there are several experts available in the market that assists in designing a bouquet of flower.

Foremost to consider is the container of the flowers. Several options like baskets and pots are available in the market as the container for the flowers. Flowers can even be presented simply by tying the stems. And there are many decorative items that can be put in the bouquet of flowers.

A good caption or a nice card can be attached to the bouquet of flowers. Flowers can be the perfect Valentine gifts. It is the messenger of love and prosperity.

50th Birthday Party Ideas

If life starts at 40, then being at 50 means one reaches the golden years of life. So, the golden jubilee of one's life should be celebrated in a grand manner to make it a memorable one for the rest of the life. The most popular way to celebrate fiftieth birthday is to bring back the old days of the celebrant. The theme of the birthday party can be "Down the memory lane" where the atmosphere of the celebrant's childhood and young days. It can be done in two ways- one is to recreate the year on which the guest of honor was born or things can be arranged to stir the memories of his old days.

Here are some ways to bring back the good old days
  • Try to invite as many of the old friends as possible as they are the ones who have seen the growing years, knew the pranks done by the celebrant in young days or who was the first crush. Give the guests a remember book where they can write the special memories with the birthday person.During the birthday party, some of the age old 'secrets' can be shared with all.
  • If one wants to recreate the time when the person was born, then request the guests to wear the kind clothes worn in the late 1950's. Arrange for the hit songs of that era and try to bring the aura of that decade through the decorations. A gramophone can be placed and the room can be decorated with flowers and candles, old furnitures if possible can replace the modern ones.
  • Get some old pictures like the first birthday, school days, first date, wedding and blown them up into posters to hang out on the walls.
  • Arrange for games that a fifty old used to play in his childhood like marbles, spins, checkers. While the celebrant and his or her peers will enjoy reliving the past while the younger generations, addicted to video games and virtual world, in the party will have some new things to do.
Fiftieth birthday can also be made memorable by making the person do what he or she had always longed for. If your father wants to go for hike at a particular place, then take him there on his golden jubilee year as it might not have been possible at seventy-five. Or if your mother wanted to indulge herself in a luxury hotel then arrange according to her wishes. Fiftieth birthday is a milestone birthday, so do anything that would make the celebrant happy and will be remembered forever.

Price and Quality

Wow ! The new year has arrived...I haven't posted for a while so I decided it was time. Once again to post some useful information for craft lovers every where.
While shopping over the holidays I noticed the finished craft items whether they were for decoration or gift items that can be purchased from the "Big name/discount/chain stores" all have the items coming from the orient, are very similar if not exactly the same they are all cheaply assembled with no pride and care, mass produced in large quantity's. So that means you and all of your friends and family and neighbors all have the same cheep decorations and or gifts.
However at Jusbcuz Dezins take great pride in the items we create and sell, There is not one item that leaves or store that hasn't been created and assembled with great love and care, inspected for quality, completely hand made for your enjoyment. We stand behind our items, we want them to last as long as nature will allow, so we use high quality wood for the cutouts we create,(not wafer board or fiber wood of any kind) We seal and treat any item that we paint on making it usable indoors or out. Naturally our products are a little more expensive, but with the quality of materials and work involved in creating each piece makes the price worth it.
We will only sell 6 of any one item before we discontinue and item, We don't want our items to be mass produced, which makes them more unique and insures that all of your neighbors and friends don't have the exact items you have.
Another plus is that you can special order color choice, personalization etc.
We also offer a "free" gift with every paid order.
So we at Jusbcuz Dezins are not a "Big Chain Store" but there again we don't need or want to be. We believe in being unique,original,personal and support small mom and pop stores.
